FIT THIRD GRADERS... Throughout its long history, Flower Valley Elementary School has emphasized fitness for its students, and on May 1, the Montgomery County Council recognized the school’s third graders for their efforts to stay fit. The third graders have researched the importance of physical fitness and have been keeping a calendar to track their physical fitness activities. At the ceremonies in Rockville were, left to right, in  front: students Amara Mnawuchi, Casey Majewski, Jessica Rogers, Spencer Hughes, Madison Reese, Jordon Ibrahimi and DJ Flowers. In back: Councilmember Phil Andrews, Flower Valley Principal Wilma Holmes, Councilmembers Valerie Ervin and Craig Rice, and Flower Valley third grade teacher Mary Kohler.
