TRANSIT TASK FORCE REPORT RELEASED … The Montgomery Transit Task Force on May 22 released its report that will serve as a blueprint for action to make a rapid transit network a reality in Montgomery County. It recommends creation of a 160-mile rapid transit network that connects to key economic and residential areas of the County on dedicated guideways. At the release of the report were, left to right: County Councilmembers Hans Riemer, Roger Berliner and Marc Elrich; Mark Winston, who chairs the Task Force; and County Executive Isiah Leggett. Councilmember Elrich first explored creation of a rapid transit system more than four years ago.
