MEETING THE (ROBOTIC) CHALLENGE … Students from theArgyle Magnet Middle School Robotic Club proved to be a powerful force in the recent 2012 Johns Hopkins Robotic Systems Challenge, which is to complement classroom instruction by providing middle and high school students with an opportunity to apply classroom skills and knowledge in a fun, competitive environment. Argyle teams placed first in the RoBo Dance competition, second in the Mystery Course competition and third in the Unleashing the Mad Scientist, Innovative Use of Board Of Education competition. On June 19, the students were honored by the Montgomery County Council for their achievements. At the ceremonies in Rockville were, left to right: Councilmember Valerie Ervin, Matthew Tibebe, Nikita Wootin, Clay Chung, Saajid Farooq, Nene Uwanamodo, Uzoma Uwanamodo, Fayben Mamo, Steven Pugh, Prabha Tharmaligam, Jose Rilloraza, Ramisa Islam, Sabrina Cauton, Councilmember Nancy Navarro and Argyle teacher Betsy Johnson.
