DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH … The Montgomery County Council on Oct. 16 urged all County residents to do their part to stop domestic violence to help victims. The ceremonies in Rockville, which declared October as “Stop Domestic Violence Month,” also saluted the efforts of the County’s Rockville-based Family Justice Center—a one-stop facility that can provide victims and families with a variety of help and services during trying times. At the ceremonies were, left to right: County Sherriff Darren Popkin; County Councilmember Phil Andrews; Hannah Sassoon of the Family Justice Center; Councilmember Valerie Ervin; Resa Levy, executive director of the Family Justice Foundation; Antonio Arenas of the House of Ruth of Maryland; and Thomas M. DeGonia II, president of the Family Justice Foundation.
