Peggy Erickson, executive director of Heritage Montgomery, recounts some of the efforts required by the organization to produce the documentary Life in a War Zone: Montgomery County During the Civil War. The program won a 2012 Washington area local Emmy Award for producer Barbara Grunbaum and the organization was honored on Nov. 13 by the Montgomery County Council for its determination to preserve and document the County’s history. The award-winning program has been broadcast by a variety of local cable stations and can be viewed online from the County web site at www.montgomerycountymd.gov
