Jasper Young, who lost most of his lifetime possessions because he said “things happen,” but is no longer homeless thanks to the efforts of the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, on Nov. 13 shared his story and his excitement about having his “own place” at a debriefing of Montgomery County’s 100,000 Homes Campaign. At the event, the Campaign reported the results of its Registry Week in early November during which about 300 volunteers spread out in the County to talk with chronically homeless individuals. The goal was to get those in need to accept housing options the County has available. Among those at the event were County Councilmembers George Leventhal, Craig Rice and Nancy Floreen and County Executive Ike Leggett.
