Montgomery Councilmember Roger Berliner To Host Chevy Chase Town Hall Meeting at Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Service Center on Wednesday, Jan. 30

ROCKVILLE, Md., January 28, 2013—Montgomery County District 1 Councilmember Roger Berliner is inviting residents to join him at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, at the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Service Center as a continuing part of his series of “Conversations With Councilmember Berliner.”

At the community meeting, Councilmember Berliner, whose district includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, Poolesville and Potomac, will host informal discussions of issues of interest to local residents.

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center is located at 4805 Edgemoor Lane in Bethesda. The meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room.

“I enjoy these informal meetings with residents of District 1. There may not be a better setting for me to learn about concerns—and to be able to bring them up-to-date on issues before the County Council,” said Councilmember Berliner, who chairs the Council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee and serves on the Public Safety Committee. “At the Bethesda-Chevy Chase meeting, we will discuss local issues important to residents, including planning and zoning projects, environmental conservation, traffic and transportation concerns and public safety. I hope my constituents will come ready to talk. I will be ready to listen and respond.”

Directions to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Service Center (parking is available in the Metropolitan Garage off Edgemoor Lane and Woodmont Avenue):

· Via Metro: Red Line to Bethesda. Take the escalator from the bus bay to the Plaza Level. Turn left. Walk past the clock tower and across to the Metropolitan plaza using the pedestrian bridge.

· From North: I-270 South to Rockville Pike/Wisconsin Avenue South. Right on Woodmont Avenue. Left onto Edgemoor Lane/Bethesda Metro Center.

· From South: North on Rockville Pike/Wisconsin Avenue. Left onto Bradley Boulevard. Right onto Arlington Road. Right onto Edgemoor Lane/Bethesda Metro Center.

· From West: East on River Road. Left onto Wilson Lane. Right onto Arlington Road. Left onto Edgemoor Lane/Bethesda Metro Center.

· From East: West on East-West Highway. Right on Old Georgetown Road. Left onto Edgemoor Lane/Bethesda Metro Center.
