Council President Nancy Navarro to Meet With Media on Monday, March 18. Topics She Will Address Include Executive’s Recommended FY14 Budget, State Funding for Transportation Projects, Report on the Achievement Gap in Montgomery Schools.

Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 18, will meet with members of the media to discuss key items that will be facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future. Among the topics Council President Navarro will address is the recommended Fiscal Year 2014 operating budget that County Executive Isiah Leggett presented to the Council on March 15.

Council President Navarro’s meeting with media members will begin at 11 a.m. in the SIXTH Floor Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.

Council President Navarro also will discuss the current status of legislation in the Maryland General Assembly which, if approved, will provide funding for transportation projects statewide, including several planned for Montgomery County. She also will address the recently released report from the Office of Legislative Oversight on the progress being made by Montgomery County Public Schools toward closing the Achievement Gap.
