Council President Craig Rice to Meet With Media on Monday, Feb. 3 Among Topics He Will Discuss Are Search Starting for New Chair of Planning Board, Proposed Bethesda Purple Line Station, Progress on Clarksburg, White Oak Master Plans

Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice will meet with members of the media on Monday, Feb. 3, to discuss key items that will be facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future. Among the issues he will talk about is the Council’s effort to find a new chair of the County Planning Board. He also will offer thoughts on the complications in planning to build a new entrance to the Bethesda Metrorail station that would also serve the future Purple Line.

Council President Rice’s meeting with media members will begin at 11 a.m. in the THIRD FLOOR Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.

Other issues Council President Rice will address are the White Oak Gateway and Clarksburg master plans. The Council will hold a public hearing on the White Oak plan at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 4. The Council is currently holding worksessions on a limited master plan amendment for Clarksburg that would impact future development in the emerging community in the northern part of the County.

Council President Rice intends to hold regular briefings to help explain and expand on upcoming issues facing the Council and the County in general.
