Montgomery County Council President Craig Rice will meet with members of the media on Monday, Jan. 27, to discuss key items that will be facing the County Council and its respective committees in the near future. Among the issues he will talk about is the progress the Council is making toward selecting a new Councilmember to fill the vacancy in District 5. He also will offer some preliminary thoughts on the Capital Improvements Program that County Executive Isiah Leggett recently presented to the Council.

Council President Rice’s meeting with media members will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the THIRD FLOOR Conference Room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville.

Another issue Council President Rice will discuss is the future of Clarksburg. The Council is currently holding worksessions on a limited master plan amendment that would impact future development in the emerging community in the northern part of the County.

Council President Rice intends to hold regular briefings to help explain and expand on upcoming issues facing the Council and the County in general.
