ROCKVILLE, Md., December 14, 2012—Montgomery County Councilmember Phil Andrews, who represents Council District 3 that includes the City of Rockville, will meet with the Rockville Mayor and Council on Monday, Dec. 17, to address issues that mutually concern the County and City. Among the issues they will discuss are pressures on the Fiscal Year 2014 County budget, development on both sides of the City/County boundary in the White Flint/Twinbrook area of Rockville Pike and Councilmember Andrews’s proposals to have tolls lowered on the Intercounty Connector to increase use of the road and to expand hiring opportunities for people with disabilities.

Councilmember Andrews will meet with the Rockville elected officials during the course of the City’s regular weekly meeting that will begin at 7 p.m. at Rockville City Hall, which is located at 111 Maryland Ave. It is expected that Councilmember Andrews will meet with the Mayor and Council about 8 p.m.

Councilmember Andrews expects the discussions to also include Pepco, building of future schools, municipal tax duplication and stormwater management fees.

“I think it is important that the City and County regularly update each other on the issues that concern each of us and our constituents,” said Councilmember Andrews. “If we exchange ideas more often and work together on key issues, we can have a greater impact for our residents.”
