Beginning July 14, the Long Branch Library, 8800 Garland Ave., Silver Spring, will be open on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
County Executive Ike Leggett said he was “pleased to have included adding Sunday hours for the Long Branch Library in the Recommended Fiscal Year 2014 Operating Budget. I know, very well, how residents value their public libraries and how important it is to have them open at times that are convenient for customers. That is why I am proud that we are able to provide this service at Long Branch for the first time.”
“The Long Branch community indicated the need for Sunday hours,” said MCPL Director Parker Hamilton. “I am very excited that the County Executive and County Council were able to include funds in the FY14 Operating Budget to make it happen.”
In addition to the Sundays hours, the Long Branch library is open Mondays through Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 to 8 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
