Library Lovers Month Family Fun Events at Silver Spring Library February 9

A used book sale, bake sale and free family programs celebrating Library Lovers Month will be held at Silver Spring Library, 8901 Colesville Rd., on Saturday, February 9.

The day’s events will kick off at 10 a.m. with the used book sale (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) that will include thousands of used books in categories such as fiction, history, art, mysteries, romance, literature, cookbooks, biography, children’s and manga. Hardbacks will sell for $2, large paperbacks for $1.50 and small paperbacks for 50 cents. Specially priced books will be on sale as well and DVDs, CDs and audio books will be available.

At 10:30 a.m., Linda Fang will take the audience on a journey to China with songs and stories like “Sticky Rice Dumplings.”

From 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., attendees can create original Valentines to take home.

The programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Silver Spring Chapter and the Silver Spring Library Advisory Committee.
