Leggett to Announce Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking in Montgomery County

Police, Women’s Groups, and Victim Will Join Executive

County Executive Ike Leggett will announce the appointment of a Human Trafficking Task Force for Montgomery County. The Task Force will explore possible County legislation to combat human trafficking, raise awareness of the forms human trafficking takes in the County, and review ways to improve County services for the victims of trafficking. A County resident victimized by human trafficking will share her experience.

Speakers will include Ike Leggett, County Executive; Craig Rice, Council President; Chief Tom Manger, Montgomery County Police; Bobbe Mintz, Montgomery County Commission For Women; Danielle Lohan, Maryland Rescue and Restore Coalition; Sergeant Kenneth Penrod, Montgomery County Police Special Investigations Division and Tina Frundt, human trafficking victim and founder of Courtney’s House.
