County Hosts Foster Parents and Families at Annual Picnic

More than 100 foster families will be joined by County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Craig Rice and staff from Child Welfare Services to enjoy an afternoon of food, music and fun activities for children. Montgomery County families provide foster care to more than 300 children in an average month. Child Welfare Services is part of the County’s Department of Health and Human Services.

Twenty-four foster children are graduating from high school. Twelve scholarships worth $500 each and donated by community organizations, businesses and individuals will be given to graduating seniors.

Several graduating seniors are willing to be interviewed and photographed.
