The public is invited to attend a leadership summit hosted by the East County Citizen’s Advisory Board (ECCAB) in collaboration with the East County Regional Services Center. The event will be held on Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center, 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville.
At the summit, County officials, community leaders, business owners and residents will identify and address issues of critical importance to the East County area and its residents. Specific areas of focus include health and human services, housing, education, economic development, public safety and transportation. This is the third such summit conducted by ECCAB, which is taking a leadership role in helping to identify and respond to the needs of area residents.
At the summit, officials from various County departments will outline their agencies’ mission and describe the impact their projects or programs may have on the East County. Participants will participate in break-out sessions by topic to create a priority needs list.
As with the 2008 East County Leadership Summit, the summit conclusions will be published and used as a guide for ECCAB as they advocate for the needs of the East County region.
The public is encouraged to attend the summit. For more information, contact East County Regional Director Jewru Bandeh at 240-777-8414, 240-777-8400 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
