County Announces Closure of White Oak Recreation Center 24-Hour Cooling Shelter; Richard Montgomery High School Shelter Remains Open

Due to a decrease in demand for overnight cooling shelters in the County, as power continues to be restored to area residences, the White Oak Recreation Center at 1700 April Lane in White Oak is no longer needed to provide 24-hour shelter accommodations. The White Oak Recreation Center will continue to operate today and will be open tomorrow, July 4, between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The County has now consolidated its 24-hour cooling shelter services to Richard Montgomery High School located at 250 Richard Montgomery Drive in Rockville.
