The Silver Spring Library is celebrating summer with a used book sale and free family-friendly programs on Saturday, August 11. The library is located at 8901 Colesville Rd.
The used book sale will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include thousands of titles in categories such as fiction, history, art, mysteries, romance, literature, cooking, biography, children’s and manga. Hardbacks will sell for $2, large paperbacks for $1.50 and small paperbacks for 50 cents. Also available will be specially priced books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books.
Family programs feature:
• two performances of Nancy Nuttle’s Music Together, with singing, dancing and instrumental play for young children, at 10:15 and 11 a.m.; and
• Pottery Crafts, including a pottery wheel demonstration and a “hand-built” project, for ages 10 and up, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Silver Spring Chapter, and the Silver Spring Library Advisory Committee.
