Montgomery County Maryland Named Finalist in 2012 Information Security Executive® (ISE®) North America Award Award recognizes project excellence in Information Security

Montgomery County Maryland is pleased to announce that its Enterprise Cloud Security Service and Architecture Project was named a Finalist in the 2012 ISE® North America Awards in the Government Project category. The award was presented at the ISE® North America Leadership Summit and Awards 2012 event held on November 7, 2012 in Alexandria, Va. Montgomery County was the only state or local government entity to make the final round in the Government Project category. Other government finalists included the IRS and USPS. The 2012 winner was the DoD, Booz Allen Hamilton.

The ISE® North America Award’s Project category showcases a wide range of information security projects that were deployed and completed in the last 12-18 months and have had the greatest positive impact within their organization. Judges evaluate projects based on scope, defined goals, ability to execute and overall results achieved for the organization.

“Cyber security threats are increasing at an explosive rate, driving the need to find innovative and cost effective solutions,” said Keith Young, Montgomery County’s Security Official. “In order to protect Montgomery County from these threats, we are continually evaluating new ways of protecting the County’s infrastructure and services. The Enterprise Cloud Security Service and Architecture Project was a multi-year research and development effort, which has already shown significant benefits to the organization. We are proud to be recognized as a Finalist in the 2012 ISE® North America Government Project Award.”

"The security of our data and infrastructure is critical in this interconnected world,” said Tim Firestine, Montgomery County’s Chief Administrative Officer. “It is heartening to be recognized for our continued efforts to be secure.”

T.E.N., an Atlanta based technology and information security executive networking and relationship-marketing firm, is the sponsor of this event. Now celebrating its TENth year, the ISE® North America Awards recognize nominees from the U.S. and Canada. Nominations are sent to T.E.N.’s distinguished panel of ISE® judges for review and scoring.
