| Officers from the 4th District and Animal Services Division of the Montgomery County Police are investigating the report of two women who were bitten by two dogs in Silver Spring.
Today at approximately 10:30 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the 14800 block of Fireside Drive, in Silver Spring, for a report of an animal bite. A preliminary investigation revealed that two Rottweiler dogs got loose from their owner’s yard and were running together in the neighborhood. The dogs began biting one woman in the arm, leg and buttocks. A second woman heard the first woman screaming, when she attempted to help was also bitten on the leg by the dogs. The dogs ran in an unknown direction. The victims were treated by a nearby hospital.
In the resulting investigation, Animal Services officers located the owner of the dogs, Christopher Boyd of the 1200 block of Windmill Lane. Boyd was issued two citations for not licensing the dogs with the State. The dogs were taken by Animal Services and the dogs will be sent to Baltimore State Lab for testing.
Montgomery County Police want to remind all dog owners to license their dogs through the County.
