Commerce Bank Robbery

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Commerce Bank, in Rockville.

Today at approximately 7:34 a.m., 1st District officers responded to a bank alarm at the Commerce Bank located at 350 East Gude Drive in Rockville. Preliminary investigation revealed that three bank employees arrived at work at approximately 7:00 a.m., and were approached by two armed suspects. The suspects forced the bank employees into the bank and then into the area of the vault where they demanded cash. While in the vault area one of the bank employees sustained a laceration to the head. Minutes later a third suspect entered the bank with an additional bank employee. The suspects gained access to the vault removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank.

The three suspects are all described as black males. The first is 6’3” tall, wearing a tan hooded sweatshirt, the second suspect wore a waist length tan jacket, and the third suspect a waist length black puffy coat. The suspects wore masks. Two of the suspects were armed with long guns. The suspects were observed in a burgundy colored SUV.
