October 31 -- Master Gardener Plant Clinic, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. @ the Olney Farmers Market, Rt. 108 and Prince Philip Dr. (the Old Hospital parking lot). Free person-to-person clinics offered by Master Gardeners trained and supervised by the University of Maryland's Agriculture Department.  Residents can seek advice on many gardening questions.  Master Gardeners will examine samples of plants and insects, identify names and problems, and propose treatments.  Soil preparation, garden layouts and choosing plants suitable for sunny or shady areas are among other possible subjects.
