Celebrate Winter on Ice in Silver Spring

An official dedication of the newly opened ice rink at Veterans Plaza in Downtown Silver Spring (corner of Fenton St. and Ellsworth Dr.) will be held on Saturday, January 8, at noon. County Executive Ike Leggett will join other elected officials, community leaders and local residents for skating, refreshments, entertainment and raffles.

Skating will be free for a 50-minute session for those who bring a donation of a winter coat (all sizes) or canned foods. Donated items will be collected by local non-profit organizations serving those in need in the community.
The rink is open to the public Monday through Friday from noon to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Individual and family season passes, group rates and admissions discount cards are available. Skating lessons are available at the ice rink throughout the season.
