The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, to be established at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, will serve as a gateway for public-private partnership in developing cyber technology and advancements in cyber security.

Mikulski (D-Md.), chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science (CJS), NIST Director Patrick Gallagher (far right) and Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony G. Brown in announcing the partnership that will establish the center.
As chairwoman of the CJS Appropriations Subcommittee that funds NIST, Senator Mikulski won $10 million to fund the new Cyber Center of Excellence.
