Police Launch Community Alert System

In a continuing effort to connect to the community via technology, the Montgomery County Department of Police has launched the Community Alert System which is part of the County’s Alert Montgomery program.

The police will send messages via email and/or text messages to cell phones, pagers and smart phones on a variety of police issues, including crime trends, critical incidents, missing persons, etc.

Anyone who works, lives or has an interest in Montgomery County is encouraged to sign up at alert.montgomerycountymd.gov.  Users will be prompted to select particular geographical police areas known as beats, under the MCPD Police District Alerts tab.

If you are not sure what beat you live or work in, just email the address(es) you want to receive alerts for to mcpdalert@montgomerycountymd.gov, and Police will provide the beat information you need.  Allow 72 hours for a response.
