Contributions of Military Memorabilia, Mementos Sought for Displays Honoring Local Veterans

To honor the dedication and memory of local service men and women, the Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs, in partnership with Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL), is seeking military memorabilia/mementos from local armed services members, veterans and their families to be featured in special displays that will appear in a number of Montgomery County Public Libraries’ branches during May and November.

Items loaned for display could include uniforms, dog tags, photos, letters, medals, or the type of personal items often left at the Vietnam Memorial.

Materials to be loaned for the May/Memorial Day displays should be taken -- no later than Friday, April 16 -- to the Broome School (first floor/use blue awning entrance) at 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Get details about how to prepare and turn in submissions and arrange for pick-up and return of the items, plus contact information.   (see press release or flyer in pdf format)
