Against the backdrop of the Holiday Park Multipurpose Senior Center in Wheaton, President Obama hosted a nationwide Tele-Town Hall Meeting on June 8 (aired live on C-Span) focusing on the Affordable Care Act and its impact on Medicare benefits. The President, accompanied by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, was welcomed by County Executive Ike Leggett, Recreation Director Gabriel Albornoz and Center Director Carol Fuentevilla. Also attending were Maryland Senators Barbara Mikulski, Congresswoman Donna Edwards, Congressman Chris Van Hollen and Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. Joining the seniors present were Council President Nancy Floreen and Councilmember George Leventhal.
