Did You Know that Overtime Parking at a Meter is Illegal?

Overtime parking means continuing to “feed” coins into a meter after parking for the posted maximum time allowed. This will result in a ticket for overtime parking. Inserting additional coins after the maximum time has elapsed does not extend the allowable time a vehicle may remain parked in the same space.

The fine for overtime parking is $55.  Long term parking is available at public parking lots and garages. To see lists, maps, and photographs of parking facilities in the County’s four Parking Lot Districts, visit the Division of Parking Management’s website or call 311, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (or outside of the County, call 240-777-0311).
