Every Thanksgiving there are those of us who relentlessly declare that pumpkin pie is a vegetable. The good news is one doesn’t have to rationalize or make excuses to enjoy a bountiful dinner with all of trimmings. Thanksgiving is a time that Americans should enjoy the traditional meal, including the pumpkin pie with whipped cream, without any guilt.
Thankfully, one day of celebratory eating does not have to be a major set-back. In fact, scheduling an extra hour of aerobic exercise may be all you need to stay healthily on track after a day of feasting. There are many ways to exercise and have fun, whether it is an hour on the basketball courts, working out at the gym, or swimming. Scheduling one of these activities in additional to your regular fitness program can easily burn off that pumpkin pie!
Montgomery Recreation has exercise rooms, gymnasiums, and indoor swimming pools to make fitness during the winter easier than ever. Check out www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rec to find a MontgomeryCountyCommunity Center or AquaticsCenter close to you.
