As the holidays get nearer, so does the excitement. Any teacher can tell you that the decibels in the school hallways intensify exponentially as winter break approaches. Whether it is the celebrations, presents, decorations or family gatherings, excitement abounds. Almost as predictable as the holiday magic, is the certainty that holiday boredom will soon follow. Every parent dreads the “I’m bored!” that follows the holiday squeals and giggles.
Montgomery County Recreation has a plan to help families defeat the “school is out” boredom. The Department offers two convenient winter break programs that will keep the fun going after the holidays. The Potomac Community Center Club Holiday programs offer arts & crafts, sports, games, special themed activities and time to hang out and play with friends. Having fun with other kids is the perfect solution to the after-holiday let down. Kids are divided into groups based on their age and there are activities that are planned for children 3 to 12 years old. The program is available in half day or full day sessions with extended care available until 6:00 pm.
