Spring Sports Updates and Announcements

Spring weather can wreak havoc on both the game schedule, and the fields. How can you find out if your outdoor game or class has been cancelled due to weather or field conditions? Follow these three steps:

1. Use the weather hotline for current conditions: 240-777-6889

2. Subscribe to e-alerts where you will receive updates on park or facility closures direct to your mobile phone. https://alert.montgomerycountymd.gov/index.php?CCheck=1

3. Contact the coach, instructor or activity provider. Before the season gets underway, make sure the instructor or coach has established a procedure for alerting participants (or their parents or both) to field conditions. Many times the coaches or instructors have the most updated information and the decision to cancel or postpone is up to them.
