Halloween Fun in Recreation!

     As temperatures continue to drop and the leaves fall, it’s a sure sign that Halloween is right around the corner. To get in the spirit, or since it is Halloween it may be safer to say, to join in the festivities, plan on attending the Halloween activities that the Recreation Department has planned this weekend.
 
October 25 -- Halloween Happening. Marilyn Praisner Community Recreation Center, 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville. Free. 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Ages 12 and under. Includes games, crafts, D.J., dancing and treats. Free but parents are asked to donate unopened bags of individually wrapped candy.
 
October 25 -- Halloween Haunted House. Long Branch Community Recreation Center, 8700 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring. Free. 7 to 9:30 p.m. For elementary school-aged children accompanied by an adult.
 
October 26 -- Halloween Extravaganza. East County Community Recreation Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring. Free. Noon to 2 p.m. K-5th grade. Games, prizes, face painting, costume contest, crafts and more.
 
October 27 -- Clara Barton Halloween Party. Clara Barton Community Recreation Center, 7425 MacArthur Boulevard, Cabin John. 4 to 6 p.m. Ages two to 11 years.
    And, don't forget the Haunted "Murkwood Forest" continues this weekend - October 25, 7:30 to 10 p.m. and October 26, 7 to 9:00 p.m.

Not recommended for children under eight years old; parents must accompany children under 12 years. Individuals with adverse affects to strobe lights, smoke machines, suddent noises, extreme darkness, or the sight of blood are adviced not to attend. this is an outdoor event and closed-toed footwear is recommended.
