Recreation Department Sponsors Food Drive to Benefit Manna Food Bank

The Montgomery County Department of Recreation is sponsoring a food drive – now through December 9 – to support the Manna Food Bank. Residents are encouraged to participate by donating non-perishable food items at any of the department’s community, recreation, aquatic or senior centers. Manna serves thousands of families each year and relies on generous donations to keep the shelves stocked so that families have the food they need.

The Recreation Department also serves thousands of residents through numerous recreation and leisure programs, and in many instances, recreational facilities are the heart and central meeting place for the communities. The annual food drive is a way for the Recreation Department and the entire community to work together to ensure that neighbors have food on their table.

To locate the closest recreational facility, go to www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rec.
