Everyone knows that exercise is important, but it can easily get lost among in the endless "to do" lists. However, small changes can make a difference, and if your New Year’s resolution was to get more exercise, it’s not too late.
If you are even thinking about increasing activity, you are on the right track. Starting with a really small change is the best way to moving toward becoming a healthier human! Any level of physical activity is helpful and there are health benefits to getting in a brisk walk, dancing, bowling or even doing the chicken dance!
The Recreation Department is perfect for those looking to have fun while being healthy. League sports such as adult football, soccer and softball can be perfect ways to stay physically active and have fun with friends. If you aren’t comfortable with your skills, sign up for an instructional class in badminton, volleyball or fencing. Dance and yoga can be perfect ways to get on the path to fitness. When you start to think beyond a rigorous regimented exercise routine, it may become a little easier to find a way to start working on your fitness goals. Whether you choose a weight and exercise room, swimming pool or aerobics class, consider the Recreation Department for all of your fitness choices.
