Montgomery County Announces Strategic Partnership with Univision Washington DC; “Montgomery al Día” Segment Airs on Noticias Washington Television Newscasts
The Montgomery County Office of Public Information (PIO) announces a new partnership with Noticias Washington, Entravision’s owned and operated Univision Television Station in Washington, D.C., where Montgomery County will have a weekly news segment called “Montgomery al Día” (Montgomery Today).

“Having a presence on Univision’s local television newscasts will serve as an additional tool to continue our ongoing commitment of informing the fast growing Hispanic community in our County and the metropolitan region,” said Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett.

The “Montgomery al Día” segment will highlight the latest news and information regarding services, programs, and events related to County government departments and agencies.

"Serving our Latino community is our biggest commitment and through this strategic alliance between Noticias Washington and Montgomery County Government, we aim to keep our audience informed about new County initiatives and available programs to its residents,” said Noticias Washington News Director Karen Méndez.

The segment will be hosted by Lorna Virgilí of PIO and a 23 year veteran Spanish language broadcast journalist.

“Fifteen months ago we launched the award-winning Spanish language radio show Montgomery al Día on Radio América 1540 AM. The radio show has proven to be highly successful and having this new alliance with Entravision will monumentally expand our outreach efforts to inform our diverse community”, said Patrick Lacefield, Director of the Montgomery County Office of Public Information.

The “Montgomery al Día” television segment airs on Noticias Washington’s Friday newscasts.
