|Montgomery County Announces Celebrations During Hispanic Heritage Month
Montgomery County announces several local events that will occur during Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15 to October 15 – throughout the County and region.
September 19, 5 – 9 p.m. -- Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County’s Hispanic Heritage Mixer Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. 7904 Woodmont Ave., Bethesda.*
September 22, 1 – 9 p.m. -- Harvest Moon Festival, including Zezeh Brazil Samba Dance Troupe performing at 7 p.m. Veterans Plaza, 1 Veterans’ Place, Silver Spring.
September 28, 2 p.m. -- Nicaraguan Folkloric Dance Troupe. Damascus Library, 9701 Main St. Check the library website calendar for ongoing intercultural programs http://montgomerycountymd.gov/library/.
September 30, 10:30 a.m. -- “Latin American Games and Songs With Lulu Delacre,” a program in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Little Falls Library, 5501 Massachusetts Ave., Bethesda.
October 7, 6 - 7:15 p.m. -- the City of Gaithersburg’s “Hispanic Heritage Event featuring Bolivia.” Boher Park Community Center, 506 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg.
October 7, 10:30 a.m. -- Bilingual Story time Spanish/English, a special six-week series of stories, songs and rhymes in Spanish and English. Little Falls Library, 5501 Massachusetts Ave., Bethesda.
October 9, 7:30 p.m. -- Jaime Salazar, a.k.a. Gato, singer-guitarist. Music Center at Strathmore, 5301 Tuckerman La., North Bethesda.*
October 10, 6 – 11 p.m. -- Second Annual Montgomery County Hispanic Heritage Celebration and Awards Ceremony, Noche de Estrellas. Silver Spring Civic Building, 1 Veterans Place.*
October 20, Noon – 5 p.m. -- World of Montgomery Multicultural Festival featuring four countries, including El Salvador. Westfield Wheaton, 11160 Viers Mill Rd.
