African American History Month Celebrated with Two Programs at Long Branch Library; Storytelling/Music and Book Talk

The Long Branch Library, located at 8800 Garland Ave., Silver Spring, has announced two programs celebrating African American History Month.

African and African American cultures will come alive through the folklore, stories and fables performed by Baba Jamal Koram at the Long Branch Library on February 3 at 2 p.m. Koram’s stories and music, suitable for all ages, promote an understanding of the cultural contributions of Africans around the world.

A second program, to be held on February 12 at 7 p.m. will feature a book talk on African American literature by Jo Stallworth, organizer of African American Book Groups for Montgomery County Public Libraries.
