In a recent Forbes.com posting of “America’s Safest, Most Secure Places to Live,” two Montgomery County cities – Bethesda and Gaithersburg – were ranked number one out of the top 10 large metro areas nationally.
The ranking reflected a broad range of criteria, including economic stability, crime statistics, extreme weather, risk of natural disasters, housing depreciation, foreclosures, air quality, environmental hazards, life expectancy, motor vehicle fatalities and employment numbers.
“I am proud that Montgomery County is home to two cities that ranked as the safest and most secure places to live in the country,” said County Executive Isiah Leggett. “This ranking proves what I have always known – that Montgomery County is a wonderful place to live, learn, work and raise a family.”
