How to recycle/dispose of
aluminum foil products

We accept these items in your blue recycling bin:
- All metal food, beverage, and pet food cans
- Aluminum foil products
- Examples: foil wrap, pie plates, and other food trays
- Tins from cookies, fruit cakes, popcorn, and similar items
- Non-hazardous aerosol cans and caps
- Examples: whipped topping, spray cooking oil, deodorant, hair spray, shaving cream

Rinse all containers, removing the tops and lids, and wipe foil clean before placing these materials in your blue bin.
Sorry, we do not accept these items in your blue bin
- Hazardous aerosol cans
- If the cans are empty of automotive, pesticide or other potentially hazardous residues, place them into your regular household trash.
- If the cans have remaining hazardous products in them, bring them to a Household Hazardous Waste drop-off.
- Any other container that held automotive products or hazardous materials.
- Any container holding syringes or other sharps.
- Also, never place syringes or other sharps directly in the blue bin.
- Foil bags used for coffee beans or ground coffee
- Put foil coffee bags into your trash.
- Foil-lined boxes for juice and other beverages, soup and other food products
What about the lids?

- If the lid is still attached to the can, tuck the lid inside the can.
Then, place the can into your blue bin.
- detached metal lids
- If possible, put the detached lid into the can, and squeeze the can
to trap the lid inside. Then, place the can into your blue bin.
- Otherwise, place the detached, loose lid into your blue bin along with
the can.
