How to recycle/dispose of tires

Curbside collection: No
County facilities accepting tires:
* Shady Grove Processing Facility & Transfer Station

Tires from bicycles and personal passenger vehicles

Tire details:

  • You may bring up to 5 tires per year.
  • Tires may be up to 33 inches in diameter.
  • We accept tires with or without rims.
  • We accept bicycle tires and tubes.

Tires from commercial vehicles and non-residential sources

Sorry, we cannot accept tires from these sources.

Tires from community or illegal dumping cleanups

Please call Montgomery County's Customer Service Center at 3-1-1 (out-of-County: 240-777-0311, TTY: 240-773-3556) before bringing tires from community or illegal dumping cleanups. We'll help you determine whether the tires involved are acceptable in our program.
