How to recycle/dispose of oil, motor and other

Curbside collection: No
County facilities accepting oil, motor and other:
* Household Hazardous Waste drop-off events
* Shady Grove Processing Facility & Transfer Station

Residents may bring up to 5 gallons of motor oil, most other oils, hydraulic fluids, and kerosene. Look for collection containers in the center of the Recycling section (under the pavilion) of the Public Unloading Area during normal operating hours.

So that the oil may be recycled, please do not mix it with any other fluids.

Some area gas and services stations accept used motor oil. Check with stations near you.

What do I do with plastic motor oil bottles?

Please dispose of empty plastic motor oil bottles as trash.

Because motor oil is a hazardous material, do not recycle the empty plastic motor oil bottles in your blue bin or other recycling collection.

What do I do with old gasoline?

We accept old gasoline at Household Hazardous Waste collection locations.
