How to recycle/dispose of fencing

Metal fencing

We accept chain link and metal fencing in our curbside scrap metal recycling collection and at the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station's scrap metal recycling drop-off. The fencing must be rolled up and reasonably rust-free. The roll may be up to 8 feet in height.

Metal fencing is not accepted at the Beauty Spot.

Wooden fencing

Sorry, we do not accept wooden fencing in our weekly trash or special bulk trash collection service.

You may dispose of wooden fencing directly at the Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station. Take it to the trash area. If your load is under 500 pounds, use the Car Entrance on Route 355. If the fencing weighs more than 500 pounds, and/or if you bring it in a pickup truck, please use the Truck Entrance on Shady Grove Road; this entrance is closed on Sundays. Disposal fees apply to amounts weighing 500 or more pounds.

The Beauty Spot accepts wooden fencing up to 499 pounds.
