County facilities accepting cell phones:
Shady Grove Processing Facility & Transfer Station
Take your phone to a local collection site
Find the cell phone collection site nearest you, using the Call2Recycle recycling locater tool.
We accept cell phones at our Solid Waste Processing Facility and Transfer Station. Bring them to our electronics recycling drop-off.
Donate your working phone for local emergency use
Mobile phones are equipped with a chip that allows calls to 911 or #77 (on state highways) even when they have no service connected to them. Thus, the phones continue to be useful even after you have disconnected your service.
Please donate your phone along with its battery and charging device.

Participate in national recycling and donation options
Check with your phone's manufacturer to see whether it offers a take-back program for its products. Many manufacturers do!
Also, many charities and organizations offer cell phone recycling as a fundraiser for their programs.
