AMVETS Department of Washington, D.C. donates thousands of dollars and volunteer hours to a variety of programs, including the D.C. Veterans Affairs Medical Center and its voluntary service program; college ROTC programs within the metropolitan area and Junior ROTC programs at Washington, D.C. high schools; and Greenleaf Senior Citizen Center in southwest D.C. Their volunteer activities are supported through numerous efforts, including donations made to AMVETS Thrift Stores in the greater metropolitan area.
