Several new road maintenance projects by the Division of Highway Services are beginning in local subdivisions.

* Goshen Estates subdivision in the Gaithersburg East service area - streets will be resurfaced starting in August. The project should be completed within approximately two to three weeks, weather permitting. Work hours will be between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, although the contractor will be permitted to work longer hours to maintain or expedite schedules.

Within 7-10 days the road will be swept to remove surface dust and residual stones. Roadway markings are replaced shortly after resurfacing operations.

The project should be completed within approximately five weeks, weather permitting. Work hours will be between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.

* Middlebrook Road in the Gaithersburg West service area, from Frederick Road/MD355 to Great Seneca Highway/MD119, will be receiving pavement preservation work (micro resurfacing) starting in August. The project should be completed within approximately three to four weeks, weather permitting. To minimize inconvenience to the travelling public, work will be conducted during night time hours between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am Monday through Friday.

* Rivers Edge subdivision in Potomac will be receiving pavement preservation work (micro resurfacing) on various streets starting in August. The first phase of the project should be completed within approximately four weeks, weather permitting. Micro resurfacing will be scheduled for late summer or fall. Work hours will be between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
