| To keep Montgomery County moving into the future, transportation planners at the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission are working on a plan exploring bus rapid transit on the county's main roads. At three public meetings in mid-November, they will unveil their preliminary recommendations and seek input.
Learn the results of transportation modeling and analysis on 20 potential corridors, including an assessment of whether existing travel lanes should be used for new transit lanes or whether more lanes should be built. Rapid transit is similar to light rail, but runs on county roads, often in ultra-modern buses. The meetings will have an open house format.
Tuesday, November 13 - Montgomery Blair High School
Wednesday, November 14 - Shady Grove Training Facility
Thursday, November 15 - Wheaton Library
All meetings are from 6:30pm – 9pm. Drop in any time or view their formal presentation at 7 p.m. Written comments can also be submitted at www.montgomeryplanning.org/brt. |
