On April 24, 2012, the County Council will hold a public hearing to receive testimony from individuals and representatives of organizations on proposed Ride On fare increases.  The hearing will be held at the Council Office Building,100 Maryland Avenue, 3rd floor hearing room, Rockville, Maryland, begining at 7:30 pm.

The fare increases, which would be effective July 1, 2012, are to keep County transit fares in line with the regional transit fares set by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA, also known as Metro).  WMATA has solicited public comment on a wide range of fares, most of them increases, that it is considering for its FY 2013 budget.  For more information on Ride On's proposed fare increases, visit the Division of Transit Services' website.

Anyone wishing to testify at the County Council hearing should register by calling 240-777-7803 on or before noon, April 23, 2012.  Written comments should be emailed.
