County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill four vacancies on the Silver Spring Transportation Management District (SSTMD) Advisory Committee for two large business representatives (50 or more employees) and two small business representatives (less then 50 employees) in the Silver Spring central business district.

The advisory committee advises the County on all aspects of operations of the SSTMD. It monitors employer traffic mitigation plans, proposes guidelines for lessening traffic, reviews traffic patterns and makes recommendations on commuting, parking and other related matters. The committee consists of twelve voting members (including three residents nominated by the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board) and four non-voting members who represent the County’s Department of Transportation, Department of Police, the Planning Board and the Silver Spring Regional Center.

Members serve three-year terms without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended. Meetings are held the second Thursday of the month at 8:00 AM in downtown Silver Spring. Additional meetings may be held as necessary.
