County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill one public position on the Montgomery County Fire and Emergency Services Commission. Members must reside in Montgomery County, and have no personal, family, or business connection with the County volunteer or career fire and emergency services.
The seven member Commission includes two representatives of County career fire/rescue personnel, two representatives of volunteer local fire and rescue department personnel and three representatives of the general public.
Members serve three-year terms without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended.The commission meets on the second Thursday evening of each month in Rockville with additional meetings scheduled as needed. Members are required to file a confidential financial disclosure statement within fifteen days of County Council confirmation and each annual period thereafter.

Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time. Leggett’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
