County Executive Isiah Leggett is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Sign Review Board, for an individual who operates a business in Montgomery County and a public representative. All members must be Montgomery County residents.
The five-member Board reviews variance applications and grants variances from the sign regulations of the Montgomery County Code. At least one member of the Board must be an architect licensed to practice architecture in the State and at least one member must be a person operating a business in the County.
Members serve three-year terms without compensation, but are eligible for reimbursement for travel and dependent care for meetings attended. Meetings are usually held once a month on Wednesday or Thursday mornings at 8:30 AM in Rockville. Members are required to file a confidential financial disclosure statement within 15 days of Council confirmation and each annual period thereafter.
Applicants of diverse backgrounds, professions, gender, geography, disability and ethnicity are encouraged to apply. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time. Leggett’s appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
